21 Easy Ways To Create A Calm Mind (Without Meditation)

"Learn to calm the winds of your mind, and you will enjoy great inner peace." ~ Ramez Sasson

With a full-time job and my writing schedule, I found it easy to lose track of my days. Weekends ceased to exist and my life drifted between work and writing and the two constantly blurred into each other.

I dragged myself day after day without a moment's rest in between. When I rested, I felt guilty for taking a break from working on my dreams, and it didn't take long for the guilt to turn into despair.

I intended to use every spare moment from my work to write, without realizing the true consequences of what I was doing. And constantly pushing myself, I never gave my mind the space it needed to shape and form my thoughts; I never easily myself  did not stay  occurred, resulting in mental barriers of all kinds and Kuntaaa that my writing progress  directly to  her influences.

I was on my way to burnout and getting faster, and I knew I needed to make a change. So I turned to meditation. It helped me become more aware throughout the day and look at my writing from a new angle of clarity.

Mindfulness Goes Beyond Meditation

While meditation can help you become more attuned with your mind, you already have all the tools you need to reap the benefits of a calm, calm mind.

By adopting only the small things in life, you can work towards greater happiness and fulfillment in your life. Here are twenty one ways you can enhance the quality of your mind without meditating.

1. Create a mindfulness mantra.

As one Hart Toll  says, "Feel deeply that the present moment belongs to you." Every morning I remind myself that my new life is starting today, which helps me step into the now and connect more deeply with the present moment and detach myself from the worries of my mind.

2. Remind yourself that you are not your thoughts.

Whenever  a negative thought  comes to your mind , simply identify it as a "thought" or "feeling" and move on. You are not reproaching or remorseful, and you are not self-doubting or angry. You are different from your thoughts and they are different from yours, so why pay attention to them?

3. Accept that thoughts arise naturally.

And if you can't change them, why try to replace them with different and "better" ideas? Don't beat yourself up for something you can't control, but don't ignore them either; Just leave them behind and choose not to identify with them, even if they boggle your mind.

4. Breathe.

Take a long breath in through your nose and exhale it through your mouth. It can help to calm you down and remind you that your thoughts are just a small part of the infinitely vast world around you.

Even the small act of saying "thank you" to the cashier can reconnect us with the present moment, and it can also keep us from getting bogged down in our thoughts, which keep us from enjoying life.
